Square Enix will be making an anime series based on Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Back in the 2000s we already had a Final Fantasy 7 anime called Before Crisis but this one is for the remake and will most likely have many new things added to the story.
Square Enix has been making deals with Netflix for a while now and have even confirmed that there will be a Kingdom Hearts Anime as well. Since Square Enix has been a part of SONY for decades, they tend to go with decisions that SONY makes. On Deadline, they had announced SONY was going to have more of their content on Netflix. SONY had chosen Netflix over Disney despite of the fact that Disney continues to fight over Spiderman and other titles.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake anime will follow the story of the game and most likely have some new additions to the story. Perhaps we learn more about Barret and his daughter or how Tifa got to the Seventh heaven. There is so much that can be done.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake obviously extended on the original story line for the PS4. All the missions and interactions players had with characters in the slums or in sector five were not in the original for PS One. So for the anime we could have more extensions to the story. This could upset some people that are die hard fans while other cannot wait to see the anime.
