Berserk has the longest hiatus of any manga or anime. Most anime would finish before going on a hiatus but Berserk is the only exception and the most frustrating part is…the anime and mange is so good that you hate waiting.
After the 1997 anime of berserk many people anticipated what would happen next or if the anime would continue. Of course the manga continue but it was very disappointing because the story did not quite progress the way that fans wanted. We got the CG animated series (with some 2D) in Crunchy Roll and despite the criticism of the animation style, people still watched it because, well, we wanted some more Berserk.
After two seasons of Berserk on Crunchy Roll, the fans are now left waiting with nothing but rumors.
Will Netflix Produce Berserk?
There have been rumors that Netflix might bring back Berserk and this could be true for two main reasons. Netflix is highly interested in Producing Anime and they have been rebooting and bringing back many anime related franchises such as Voltron, Devilman and Castlevania. Speaking of Castlevania, it is said that the director of Netflix’ Castlevania is interesting in continuing the Berserk series which is not promised. Thus far it is only a rumor but Netflix can make it happen.
At this point, who else can make it happen but Netflix. Is not like the anime is going to catch up with the manga unless they skip certain parts of the manga in the anime. That is what the new Crunchy Roll series did.
