That is right. Apparently, the Kingdom Hearts franchise is too precious to let it go. After Kingdom Hearts 3, the story will continue. So in an interview Tetsuya Nomura, the director, said that he considers Kingdom Hearts Sora’s story. Of course he did not want to spoil the rest. This means that once Sora’s story is over, there will definitely be more of Kingdom Hearts or perhaps it will go under a different name.
It definitely seems that Square Enix is cooking up something good alongside Disney for the Kingdom Hearts franchise after part 3 is over. Keep in mind that Square Enix will be focusing on the development of Final Fantasy 7 once Kingdom hearts 3 is released on January 29 of 2019.
There is so much that can be done especially since Disney is in this for the long term, Square will continue to use Disney properties to expand the universe of Kingdom hearts. Maybe in a few years it will have a different name but who knows.
Once Sora’s story ends maybe we will have a new hero.
So with Kingdom hearts it seems that Square Enix is in it for the long run with this game. I mean with Disney they cant go wrong. It also makes sense for them to continue on with the series because Disney is not going to stop making movies and Cartoons shows also remember that Pixar will also be making more movies for Disney.
Kingdom Hearts is too profitable for Square to just abandon it after it after the last game.
There are also more stories to be told after KH3. Some questions will be left unanswered
Lets wait and find out and you should go play Kingdom Hearts 3 first.
