With a $90 Million budget Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse raked in $375 Million. The movie was so successful and won an Oscar. Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is still the number one Marvel Super Hero probably next to Iron man. But despite the title this is not the first time we have seen the Spider-verse. Remember the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon series. That one was the first to show us the Spider-Verse with Spidey from alternate realities. You can read more about the 1994 Spider-Man click here.
This had to be one of the best Spider-Man films ever. Much like how the CW Flash TV series showed us a multiverse of the Flash, this Spider-Man gave something to everyone. I think that is why people like to watch these multi verse stories because there is something for everyone. A girl Spider- Man, a detective Spider-Man, cartoon Spider-Man, Mecha Spider-Man. I think that is one of the reasons why the Flash was so successful. Despite of the complexity of the time travel story lines, the diversity that the multi verse brings really attracts a broader audience.
With the Success of Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse with Miles Morales (Afro Latino) the creators are working on the sequel which will pack a punch. Also if you staid long enough after the credits, there was a little introduction to the second movie with the one and only Miguel O’Hara who is best known in the comic books.
If you follow the comic books you might have already known about Miguel O’Hara also known as Spider-Man of 2099. So we are going to break down the sequel and what to expect.
Miguel O’Hara
Quick introduction. So if you could not tell by the name, Miguel O’Hara is a Latino Mexican living in a futuristic New York which was renamed Nueva York (In Spanish) in the year 2099. Miguel worked at Alchemax as a geneticist. Like all Spider-Man stories an accident happened where the genetics of a spider mixed with his and thus rearranging his half his DNA.
As we saw in the credits of Into The Spider-Verse, Miguel has a watch that works as a time machine. This piece of information is essential for the next installment. I am not sure if he is going to play the villain but our guess is that he will be more of an anti-hero than anything. Out guess is that he will start out as a villain and then join Miles Morales and the rest of the Spider crew.
In his universe of course, Miguel, as the Spider-Man, got his own set of villains so doubt he will end playing that part. We do believe that there will be a clash between all the Spiders.
Japanese Spider-Man
Fun fact. So the Japanese Spider-Man will be making it in the sequel. So if you did not know, Japan also had its own Spider-Man TV series in 1978. Their Spider-Man pretty much looked the same but was a bit different. This Spider-Man had a giant robot because well…that is Japan. If you watch enough anime, you know how much the Japanese love giant Robots and Giant Monsters.
The giant robot was called Leopardon. It only appeared in a few episodes back. It would be interesting to see this and probably we will see Leopardon join the fight.
Multi Verse Spider-Man Gathering
Thus the title Into The Spider-Verse. We saw Spider Gwen, Pig Spider, Noir Spider-Man, Alternate Peter Parker and Penny Parker. In part 2 there will be a heck of a lot more Spider-Man to go around. Since that machine that the King Pin invested in open the dimension holes for other Spider-Man’s you can bet that more of them will appear. Which is why I decided to quickly talk about the Japanese Spider-Man. There are more than 100 different Spider-Man but we have only seen five so far.

There are way more than that. There are even animal versions of Spider-Man. So in the sequel of the Spider-verse all Spider-Men will come together but the question is, what is the purpose. Who will be the new villain. Most likely the people or scientist who open the dimension of for the Spider-verse. Someone is doing something and the Spideys are going to do something to stop them.
Miles and Gwen Romance
Along with the new Spider-man that will be introduced in the sequel, we are going to see a growing romance between Miles and Gwen. That wont be the main focus but it will be a big part of the story. They fall in love in the comic books most likely we will see their love life in the next installment.
Into the Spider-Verse 2 Release Date
The Spider-verse movie was released on December of 2018. The release date for the part 2 is April 8, 2022. Its going to take them four years to finish part 2 of the movie. They could release it a year earlier but there is going to be a big bang in this movie. They are taking their time with it. You also have to remember that although this is a CG movie it has a lot of Cartoon elements. Infinity War Avengers came out 2018 and then Avengers Endgame came out in 2019 literally one year later.
So either they are working on a low budget or they are really taking their sweet time to make a master piece. I mean Into The Spider-verse won an award. This is why we believe that the movie will be a big bang. There might be a huge battle between the Spiders or against the main villain.
Either way this is going to be amazing.
